Tsering Paljor is not Bhutanese singer. He is a Tibetan who lives in Bhutan. He has acted in Bhutanese films and also sung Bhutanese songs but he is not Bhutanese. He is a Tibetan. Tenzin Gonpo Michael is a singer? Hahahahaha, then I am a pop star.

    Dear Organizer —

Where is our super star, singer Mr Tenzin Sanpo la, who is from Orissa? He has two albums, the first “Amma Taring la” and second “Gesi”. Please invite him, because he is a very talented singer. We love to hear his songs and we love to see him on the stage. This is our request!

We hope that he will accept our request.

    Hello HITA,

May I give you a suggestion? Since there is a difficulty in getting permission and you’ll have meeting again tomorrow. I think it will be good to compromise on the grounds that HITA organize a one-night culture display especially of Ladhaki and then 4 nights to HITA singers, if at all their reason for not giving permission is they want to promote their own culture. My suggestion may/may not work but who knows! My best wishes to all!

Just read on the Official Website that no concerts are allowed during the Kalachakra.

Well, the notice of no commercial shows allowed until getting permission from KOC was notified a week back. Our Concert was planned from last year, and this particular website was launched in the beginning of year. From then, there as no notice and no such information. Why suddenly … ??

Hi, is the concert confirmed? I am a travel agent and we organize trips and treks in Ladakh with our local agent for 9 years. We have departures on the time of the Kalachakra, and our guests would be very glad to attend the concert. Many thanks for this great initiative.

    Julley to all!
I would like to say to ALTO and Ama Tsokspa that they don’t need to worry about the Kalachakra Concert. Ladakhis and Tibetans share the same culture, so in my opinion there is no point to have objections for this concert. I hope also I can go to the concert after the Kalachakra and the music with my family and friends. Tenzin Choegyal from Spain is great!

The Ladakh youth music groups, ALTO, and Ladakh Alliance group had a serious objection for this concert two years back when young Ladakh music groups tried to do the same and they stopped it. Now if they allow this to happen, the young Ladakhi group will raise the question, “Why they did not allow us, as we have the same idea.”

Thank you for your concern, Well many have confused this concert with the the Confluence Festival that happened a few years back in Ladakh, To clarify, this concert has not a thing to relate with the Confluence Festival.

Confluence Festival was a night-long music event, and the artists are non-Himalayan and not sure about the objective of the organiser.

This concert organised by HITA, is like usual concert happened in every other Kalachakra. The timing for the concert is in the evening from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. As per our objective of promoting Himalayan artists, we have invited more of Himalayan region artists!

Like many other communities coming together to promote their region artists and musicians, HITA is trying to do the same effort. I suggest, instead of trying to stop and creating the issues, this is the time we come together and support our Artists!

General advice for all: as far my information goes, no one will be allowed to perform here in Ladakh during the time of Kalachakara 2014 unless you have special permission from committee concerned constituted by the organisers of Ladakh Kalachakara 2014.

Some of the Ladakh organisations — such as ALTOA Ladakh alliance and the mamas group (ama group)— are very sensitive on issues like music concerts (specially rock-n-rolls and head bangings), the last time they have band ladakh music concert. So before taking any major decision contact these people, keep them in confidence, or may face last-moment hiccups.

HITA should be careful that such a big event doesn´t créate any unnecessary problems at the holy site. There should be a solid security. HITA should be responsible for any fights if ever happens. HITA also should keep a level of standards in terms of selecting artistes.

Artistes should have a personality too. I can see many artists without any personality.

    THANK YOU.
